HOW TO PREPARE IT
The brown beans should be rinsed and then put in water for 12 hours. Then it is time to cook in new water by bringing to boil and let them cook in low temperature for about 1.30 or 2 hours. For cooking 4 dl brown beans use 1 liter water, 1-2 teaspoons of salt, and for special flavor add 2-3 spoons of syrup, 2-3 spoons of vinegar essence (ättiksprit) The white beans require only 8 hours submerged in water. Then cook in new water and 1 teaspoon of salt for about an hour.
The sauce (adapted version of Hogao) 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil, fry the chopped onions, tomatoes, add chopped garlic, add pepper, a hinch of cinnamon and sugar, at the end some spinach can be added to give some extra flavor and more color.
An alternative side salad can be made with paprika, red onions, fresh tomato and spinach leaves. Add some apple vinegar, pepper, salt and seeds.
